Meet the Minds: Andrew Case
At 1000 Feathers, we’re lucky to have a network of trusted partners who bring added depth, curiosity, and innovation to the table. Dr. Andrew Case is one of those people. While not a member of our core team, Andrew is someone we call on when a project needs an added layer of insight—particularly when organizational change, equity, or behavioral science are at the center.
With a Ph.D. in psychology and a deep background in public health and systems transformation, Andrew has contributed to meaningful work in South Carolina and beyond. Whether it’s supporting locally-led initiatives, conducting community-based research and evaluation, or helping partners explore tough questions, Andrew is a go-to collaborator who brings care, clarity, and a sharp mind to every project.
But don’t let the academic credentials fool you—he’s just as comfortable discussing the deeper lessons of Angry Birds as he is decoding data or designing an intervention.
“Yes, it’s a children’s movie,” he says of his latest recommendation, Angry Birds, “but it has great adult lessons about finding your place in the world, building relationships, resolving trauma, and channeling negative emotions in productive ways.”
That kind of layered thinking is exactly why we love working with him.
When asked what joy looks like, Andrew keeps it grounded: time with family, preferably somewhere tropical, on vacation or a road trip. He also finds joy in gardening—something about digging into the earth and seeing things grow clearly resonates with a person who’s committed to nurturing people and communities.
As a partner, Andrew brings a collaborative mindset. He defines success as “finding my seat on the bus—where my talents and skills can be employed to add value to complete the project.” He’s not just along for the ride—he’s tuned into the route, paying attention to the people, and making sure the work stays on track.
We’re grateful for partners like Andrew—people who not only bring experience and perspective but also a shared commitment to purpose-driven work and authentic relationships. Whether we’re analyzing systems or just unpacking the emotions of a cartoon bird, we know we’re better when he’s in the mix.
